One of the pioneers of intestinal lipid absorption died on August 19, 2015, after
a lengthy illness. He was Dr. Charles M. Mansbach, or Charlie to his friends. Over
a long productive and distinguished career, he made many contributions to our understanding
of the factors involved in intestinal lipid absorption and the role of the chylomicron
assembly in particular.
